Yeadon Sailing Club is pleased to announce it
has been awarded a Lottery Small Grants Award towards new training equipment to
support an initiative to get more people sailing, particularly women. We are
extremely pleased with this announcement as it reflects the hard work YSC has
put into its training programme this year and future plans to get more people
out on the water.
Vice Commodore and Funding Organiser Bob
Dootson said:
“One of the most common comments we received is that racing is dominated by men, through a combination of this amazing funding and targeted training, we hope to encourage more women on the water.”

Commodore Glens Burgess went on to say:
“YSC is already well known for its excellent and supportive training, recently one of our female juniors achieved a fantastic result in the Topper Dinghy Nationals, and we want to build on that helping others enjoy the fantastic and rewarding sport of sailing. Look out for details of our new training events for all females, (members and none members), being announced early next year.”
