Barley straw treatment of the tarn - Can you help ?

Hi All, the regular barley straw treatment of the tarn is going to be done again on Wednesday 5th September.
This helps to keep the water blue green algae free and relies on volunteers from all tarn users (fishing club, model boat club and the sailing club) to help ouBt as well as the Leeds CC Parks Department and the local councillers.
This is carried out twice a year (September and March) and the work involves removing the old straw from the tarn and stuffing new straw in mesh 'sausages' to float back out on the tarn.
If you can help with the working party please come along on the 5th from 9.00am.
The more that help, the easier the job!! :-)

Just to let you know that we will be running Intermediate training on the following Saturdays in September and October:
1st September 11.00am
15th September 11.30am
29th September 11.30am

The training will introduce you to more advanced techniques and how to start getting involved in racing.
The start times for all sessions will be at 11.30am prompt with a briefing and then immediately on the water (i.e. you will need to get to the club by at least 10.30am to rig your boat and get changed and ready).
Please note however the first session (1st Sept) will start at 11.00am so that we can finish by 12.30pm as racing starts earlier that day.
Please visit the club's Webcollect page at https://webcollect.org.uk/ysc to book a place.
