Tonight we took the rare decision to suspend sailing due to the strength of the winds. The gusts would have made it too dangerous and it would have been more of a swimming lesson than one of sailing.
With 30 trainees along, we needed a plan B. So we split into small teams and rotated the trainees round in 30min sessions:
We covered:
- Shore drills for tacking and gybing
- Knots
- Powerboat training
- Basic rules
- Rigging
Well done to all the instructors in showing again how adaptable we can be to different conditions and well done to all those who, despite the weather, came along to another successful night at the club.
