Squad Success for Harriet !
After a year that has taken the Lee family to numerous sailing clubs all over the country to attend training and open events I’m please to let you know that Harriet’s efforts, determination and general good sailing over the year has been recognised and she has been selected for the 2013/14 ITCA (GBR) UK Racing Squad. That means another winter of training and summer of attending more events for her !
A big part of her success has been down to great support from Mum, Dad and William, an equally essential part of the organisation !
So not only is it “Congratulations !” to Harriet, it is “Well Done to them all !”
Over the year they have been to, in no particular order :- Rutland, Grafham, Pennine, Scaling Dam, Pwllheli, Sunderland, Weymouth, Carsington, Yorkshire Dales, Derwent, Beaver, Datchet, and of course Yeadon.
That has been approximately 85 days of Topper sailing in the last 12 months and over the year they have gone through the following boat bits - lower mast section (snapped while training), 2 sails (1 ripped while racing, 1 when the mast section snapped), 2 downhauls, 3 kickers, 3 goosenecks, numerous blocks and metres of ropes and dynema !!!!
