Firstly a really big thank you to everybody who have volunteered themselves for race duties (Officer of the Day - OOD and Assistant Officer of the Day - AOOD) via Dutyman the calendar. It is great to see the duties slots being filled. If you haven't picked your preferred dates for carrying out a duty your time is running out as soon we will be allocating duty days to members who haven't volunteered yet. There are a number of gaps in the programme that we need to fill shortly see link below to the Race Info page on the Website for the current list of OOD and AOOD duties ;
Dutyman Duty Calendar
If you
don’t have much experience of racing, please volunteer for Assistant
Officer of the Day duties and you will be paired with an experienced
Officer of the Day. Junior members are not expected to do any
duties, but any juniors who want to help are very welcome to get
involved.
If you
do a lot of racing you should volunteer for at least four duties. If
you don’t race much (or at all) please can you please volunteer for at least two
duties.
If your plans change and you
are unable to do a planned duty, there is within Dutyman a facility that allows you to try and swap duties with others. If you are unable to swap, please get in
touch as soon as possible with Martin Ashby (Sailing Secretary (Acting)) via :
info@yeadonsailingclub.co.uk
and he will try to organise a replacement.
Another way you can help the smooth running of the Club is with the catering for the various Open Meetings we run for the different Classes throughout the Season. We need volunteers to prepare lunches, serve drinks (teas, coffees, etc.) during the day and make cakes and puddings for the hungry sailors. If you are able to help in this way please come down to the Club on Sunday 14th April at 2.30 when there is a Catering Meeting to plan what we need for this seasons events, or let us know that you are willing to help by e-mailing
info@yeadonsailingclub.co.uk
Many thanks !
