Background
Last year YSC had to stop sailing for a few months due to an outbreak of Blue Green Algae on the tarn. To prevent a repeat this year, YSC has been working with the council and other tarn users to look at prevention treatment for the tarn. The process involves placing barley straw in mesh bags at key points around the tarn. Through a natural process this discourages the growth of Blue Green Algae.
Your assistance will be required in bagging the straw, placing the stakes and attaching the bags of straw. Further details will be distributed to those who are able to assist.
Many thanks
