Do you know your windward from your leeward, your clear ahead from being overlapped and your mark room ?
Plus, did you know that they have updated and tweaked the Racing Rules of Sailing (again !) for the period 2013 to 2016 ?
Carol Haines, the RYA Regional Rules Advisor, is coming to the Sailing Club to give us a presentation about the recent rule changes and updates, and to refresh everybody’s understanding of the basic rules. This will held at the Club on Wednesday 27th February, starting at 7 for 7.30pm.
She came to see us a few years ago and it was a very interesting evening. So whether you are new to racing, or an experienced racer, this is an ideal opportunity to update your knowledge of the rules and to get yourself ready for the new season starting in a few weeks time.
Carol also sells the latest Rules Books covering the period 2013 – 2016, So in case you didn’t get one in your Christmas Stocking bring your wallet !
We’ll finish with supper if enough people are interested in food, depending on numbers.
It is going to be a very informative and interactive evening and I’m sure it is going to be popular so please can you give us some idea of numbers for food and for seats could you speak to myself or Tim Burnett or drop us an email if you plan to come along.
Many thanks,
Neil

Boats need love too !
Over the last two weeks we been in a winter wonderland, then
wet, then mild and wet, then windy, cold and wet, cold and dry, wet and wild, cold and
possibly back to snow this weekend !
If you have left your boat in the dinghy park over the winter
it’s well worth going down to give it a check over, making sure it is dry inside
and the cover is on and it is all well tied down.
As I said “Boats need love too !”
